What a seductive wine of both place and style, awash in aromas of tarte tatin, fig jam, toasted almond and a dash of butterscotch. A real rush on the palate combines that aromatic warmth with tension and carries everything to a delightful place through the finish. The 2023 vintage was one in which Sashi’s winemaking most immediately steered the ship, and this imprint is felt in the wine’s balance of delicate minerality with a strong core of fruit and oak influence. Stately and star-bright alike, it will please both ardent traditionalists and those who look to Oregon’s new frontier.
La Source Chardonnay continues the great tradition of elegance and richness we’ve come to expect from this site. Sourced from the old-vine Dijon clones in the lower half of a narrow band of 14 vine rows in the heart of Seven Springs, the wine speaks of our volcanic soils scattered with iron-rich rocks and pebbles. They prove invaluable to the crafting of finessed, place-driven Chardonnay.
