2023 Seven Springs Pinot Noir
Seven Springs Pinot Noir welcomes an array of clonal material of different ages from the estate’s upper blocks that we feel best encapsulates our terroir. These vines were planted between 1993 and 2013 and include Dijon, Pommard, and California heritage selections that in the ten to 20 years since their arrival have adapted tremendously to our climate and soils while maintaining their own idiosyncrasies. In this way, each complements the others, resulting in a balanced Pinot Noir that recalls the freshness and elegance of the Eola-Amity Hills.
Potpourri, mountain black cherry, winter spices, rosewood: These are just a few of the aromas that saunter out of the glass and into the senses with this vintage of estate Pinot Noir. True to the cuvée and especially the 2023 vintage, there is both serious minerality and also buoyancy, a smile, in fruit and spice that carries to all of the wine’s elements, namely its sturdy but polished tannins, clean finish and simply stellar approachability. The vigor of our basalt soils and the eastern exposure of these vines express themselves clearly here — growing pure, well-composed Pinot Noir.
