Mark Vijg
Born on December 1st, 1986 in Rotterdam, the Netherlands, Mark moved to the United States when he was six years old. He spent time in both Boston, Massachusetts and San Antonio, Texas before attending Rutgers University – Newark in New Jersey. Shortly after Mark’s time at Rutgers he was introduced to the wine industry via a family friend, Roger Rosenblum, who suggested he work a harvest at his family’s new winery, Rock Wall Wine Company in Alameda, California. Eventually, Mark found his way to the Willamette Valley in Oregon where he learned his craft in the cellar at Dobbes Family Estate for six years. Today, Mark is embarking on a new adventure at Evening Land Vineyards where he hopes to continue to learn and refine his craft alongside a great team of passionate people. Outside of his work, Mark enjoys following his Dutch soccer team, Feyenoord, exploring great new foods and wine, and collecting fine art.
