Born in Santa Barbara, Luis was raised in the Guadalajara region of Mexico. After spending two decades outside of the United States, Luis moved back to California in 2004, then quickly made the jump to Oregon the following year. Upon arriving on the West Coast, Luis immediately found himself working in the food and beverage industry. He first worked for a vineyard management company, followed by numerous bottling gigs and a role at a confectionery. Countless wine and chocolate pairings later, Luis followed his passion for wine and took a logistics role with Beaux Frères, which ultimately led him to Evening Land Vineyards. When not at the winery, Luis enjoys volunteering for events that help the community learn more about wine, particularly the IPNC and tHe McMinnville Wine and Food Classic. He also enjoys spending time with his wife, Monica, their three children, Fatima, Liam, and Virginia, and their family dog, Remington – with a glass of delicious wine in hand, of course. He holds a marketing degree from Universidad del Valle de Atemajac (2003) and a Business Management degree from Linfield University (2013).
