INTERNATIONAL WINE REPORT

Evening Land Vineyards La Source Pinot Noir 2022 - 95 Points

“The 2022 Evening Land La Source Pinot Noir is a stunning wine that gives a light, moving to dark neon ruby core with a lighter pink rim. Coming from the Seven Spring Estate vineyard, it offers up those wonderful flavors of ripe red fruit (strawberries and raspberries) with white pepper, lavender, white tea, and earthy notes playing second fiddle. A silky smooth structure with tannins that are rounded and sweet playing alongside lemony acidity and a fresh red-fruit-driven finish.” - J. Young

Evening Land Vineyards Summum Pinot Noir 2022 - 98 Points

“The 2022 Summum is a scintillating effort from the magicians at Evening Land. Spice-driven on the nose, it glistens with a fluorescent ruby and purple core, moving to a light blue rim in the glass. Easily mistaken for a Premier or Grand Cru Burgundy blind, it’s an almost perfect example of what Oregon Pinot Noir can be. Crushed strawberries, red and black cherries, citrus peel, wet-turned earth, toast anise, and dried thyme notes are perfectly balanced alongside the perfect levels of acidity, smooth, rich tannins, and a perfectly formed finish that envelopes the entire palate. Better in 2025 and then enjoy over the next 15 years with proper cellaring.” - J. Young

WINE SPECTATOR

Evening Land Vineyards La Source Pinot Noir 2022 - 96 Points

La Source hones in on the top of Seven Springs Vineyard, where western sun and wind are at their most intense. The earth feels close – sandalwood, bay leaf and leather lead a forested nose into star anise and well-integrated oak, with red fruit and Navel peel lurking underneath. Weightless but dense, soft but linear, this wine slaloms through level after level as airy tannins melt into the finish.

Evening Land Vineyards Summum Pinot Noir 2022 - 96 Points

“Summum is a truly singular Pinot Noir from the lowest-yielding vines in the La Source parcel. The intensity is immediate – plush raspberry and fresh rose petal with porcini mushroom and smoked spice, touching on so many primary and secondary aromas profligate in Pinot Noir. This cuvée is all about concentration of fruit and judicious oak, and there’s enough structure to carry the two in a confident performance, the subtleties of which deserve to be worked out again and again.”

VINOUS

Evening Land Vineyards La Source Pinot Noir 2022 - 94 Points

“An understated beauty, the 2022 Pinot Noir La Source opens with a nuanced bouquet, with dusty florals giving way to hints of blood orange and violet florals. It’s a model of purity with cooling acidity and crisp red fruits taking on more brassy notes toward the close as juicy acidity enlivens the senses. The 2022 tapers off with a spicy tinge, leaving the mouth watering for more as hints of citrus contrast dusty tannins. The La Source is produced using 20-30% whole clusters.” - AG

Evening Land Vineyards Summum Pinot Noir 2022 - 95 Points

“The 2022 Pinot Noir Summum is perfumed with peppery florals and dusty lavender, complementing crushed wild berries. This is full of energy, cooling and racy, with depths of tart red fruit cascading beneath an air of violet and rose. It takes on a grippy sensation as fine tannins mount toward the close. The Summum is fermented using 30-40% whole clusters and refined in 60% new French oak.” - AG

ADDITIONAL VINOUS SCORES

Evening Land Seven Springs Pinot Noir 2022 - 93 Points

“The 2022 Pinot Noir Seven Springs blossoms in the glass as depths of wild strawberry, raspberry, lavender, and rose petals form a beautifully perfumed bouquet. It’s seductively soft and supple with vividly ripe red fruits juicy acidity, underscored by a tactile mineral tinge. The 2022 finishes remarkably fresh and lifted with a gentle tug of fine tannins, leaving the palate completely refreshed. Spellbinding.” - AG

Evening Land Seven Springs Gamay 2022 - 92 Points

“What a treat: deep magenta, the darkly alluring 2022 Gamay Noir Seven Springs is spicy with crushed raspberries, menthol, white pepper, and sage. Dense silky textures wash across the palate, quickly building in tension as brisk acidity and citrus-tinged wild berries slowly saturate. It takes on a steel mineral component through the finish, along with rosy inner florals, tapering off classically dry.” - AG

Evening Land Seven Springs Chardonnay 2022 - 92 Points

“The 2022 Chardonnay Seven Springs is spicy and floral, with a savory blend of young peach and green melon complicated by hints of rosemary. Round and luxuriously soft with ripe orchard fruit, the 2022 impresses with its vibrant acidity and saline minerals, adding unexpected depth. Long and staining yet still remarkably fresh, the 2022 finishes with a subtle salty sensation and hints of lemon oil.” - AG
