Pinot Noir with Pedigree
The 2019 vintage offers Pinot Noir of remarkable purity, elegant tannin, and the most refined red wines produced at Evening Land to date. From the pinnacle of Seven Springs Vineyard, perched high along the eastern slopes of the Eola-Amity Hills, the La Source vineyard block yielded not one, but two exceptional wines in this remarkable vintage.
Summum Pinot Noir
Summum Pinot Noir is only made in the vintages we deem our very best. Last produced in 2009, it has been a decade since we encountered a growing season worthy of this cuvée. Summum comes from a north-facing parcel of the La Source vineyard block where yields are lighter, soils are rockier, and the stress visited upon the vines is much greater. With the utmost care exercised in the cellar, this wine will age gracefully for decades to come.
94 Points, Wine Spectator: "Refined and elegantly structured yet distinctive, with fresh violet, black tea, cranberry and pomegranate flavors that carry a flinty minerality on the sleek finish."
La Source Pinot Noir
A powerful concentration of slope, soil, and vine, La Source Pinot Noir is the vinous essence of Seven Springs Vineyard. We fiercely guard the hard-won reputation of La Source with diligence and exquisite care in the vineyard and winery, striving to craft a wine that enriches your cellar and enlivens your table.
95 Points, Wine Spectator: "A wine of precision and dimension, this is buoyed by a vibrant acidic, tannic backbone and framed by bright cherry and forest floor accents, which build richness toward the refined tannins."
