A focused and composed bouquet draws you into the glass. The harmony of the nose, even at such a young stage, is incredibly engaging. Layered aromatics of fresh and preserved fruits, turned soil, black tea, decomposing Douglas fir needles, floral notes of violet and rose, are all gently lifted and brightened by the subtle influence of new barrique. The wine absolutely shimmers on the palate and proceeds gracefully towards a generous mid-palate. Lithe and ample, compact and lacy, grounded and buoyant, the 2021 Summum Pinot Noir is a compelling wine.
